Hi clan, I know this doesn't start until mid-November, but with the way I am so busy these days I thought I ought to spoil the big surprise I have for round 3.8, the last round of 2010...

Prizes for every player!!!

In addition to the usual distribution of tix to the top 5, and the random door prize, I'm going make sure every player gets a prize. It might be a playset of full art lands, or it might be a Yavimaya Elder, or it might even be a rare or mythic rare card.

Watch out for the announcement of the player of the year and rookie of the year prizes, not forgetting the participation prize.

I don't think there's a lack of interest in our league, I think we're just going through a time when a lot of players are too busy to be online playing magic. Hey sorry I was a no show for this event. My laptop has been getting some serious repairs so I'm left with my old mac. ALso explains why I haven't been online for quite a while( If anyone really noticed). Should be back for the next round :].

Wish I had signed up, prizes for everyone rules! School drools Did lots of people play faery control?

Pete, the deck i have faced most is MBCu, but only one of those was a faeries version, the other 2 were really MBC with blue splash for foresee and mulldrifter. I have been playing mostly MBC, but I switched to DDW because I was tired of playing so many long control mirrors. I've seen a couple of team america type decks, no doubt inspired by the recent success in standard, and also several poison decks. Finally I think I played against some kind of edge of divinity deck.

To my mind the beatdown decks seem to be slightly better than the control decks in the current extended, but we seem to still be in that early experimentation phase of a new format, so I expect control to improve.

Thanks for the rundown John. probably will be an entirely different meta by the time the next extended league rolls around. Whats the next format going to be and when does it start?
