Ok, the first thing that pops out at me is the land count. 28 is much to much. For a burn deck like that you should be aiming for around 20. In my burn deck i run 22 lands but only because i have 4 gathan raiders and the extra land helps me to empty my hand to get early 5/5 beaters. In a deck like that i'd run 20-21.

As you'll be losing a lot of land I think the lava axes should go and i don't rate the raging goblins at all.

As you're mono red you might want to take advantage of Martyr of Ashes at least in your sidboard for matchups like white weenie and elves.

Here's three cards you might want to add;

Martyr of Ashes
Keldon Maraurders
Inner-Flame Acolyte

Personally i don't like burn-heavy stategies as without draw they tend to run out of steam so i'd like to stick lots of cheap effective critters in there.

If you decide to include more critters let me know and I have a lot of sugguestions on creatures you could add
Very Happy

Just further to Andy's post i tend to agree, normally a 20 land/20 creatures/20 spells mix is a good rough and ready rule so if u free up 7 or 8 spots by reducing your lands to 20/21 this allows extra creatures i would swap the raging goblin for Karplusan wolverine a 1 drop that when it becomes blocked can deal 1 pt damage to a creature or player i'd add the creatures Andy mentioned and if you have access to shadowmoor there are a few from that set that have useful effects for example intimidator initiate can clear a path for ur attackers by tapping an opponents creature (ok it costs 1 mana but if u get the damage through it can be worth it, also sootstroke kindler is a 1/1 with haste that can be tapped to provide haste to a creature. (i've used its ability in conjunction with the keldon marauders which if unblocked through all its time on the board can deal 8 pts of damage 1 as it enters play 3 with the haste from the kindler 3 normal damage on its attacking turn and 1 as it leaves play.As far as your burn spells are concerened i'd sideboard the shard volley ( this i take it was the reason for the high land count ? as you have to sacrifice a land as part of its casting cost) if you have to play it early on in a match it can set your tempo back and put you on the defensive when you should be attacking.Needle drop is 1 damage for 1 red (ok so you draw a card but you have to have done damage to play it , its to conditional in my thinking) So I would suggest dropping the needle drop and maybe the shard volley (if not relegate it to the sideboard) and use the space for creatures Andy could probably give you a better list than I (he's been playing a lot longer Very Happy . But remember burn is good but it can't block ur opponents creatures get some of your own Very Happy And also if you run up against some of the blue control decks you may struggle even to get your burn through. Anyway welcome to common sense and feel free to PM me or Andy or any of our other clan members as i'm sure they will all have idea's and opinions that may help you and your deck building.
Regards
Harry

The only creature i would think of adding (off the top of my head that is) to the list Andy has posted is Mudbutton torchrunner sometimes he get through for damage and if he's blocked and destroyed youu get 3 pts of damage to deal to either a creature or another player i have won a game by tarfiring my torchrunner for 3 pts of damage when i didn't have enough burn for the win Very Happy . If i think of any others i'll post them here.

i can only come up with these 2 cards

Chromatic Star
Terramorphic Expanse

the star lets you draw and extra card and you get the mana you spend back and expanse doenst really give you much mana advantage but it does help get the land out of your deck so you can draw your better cards.

i've also been finished off by empty the warrens a few times.. but shadowmoor might make that card not as good anymore.

Heres a posible deck listing for you :-

Lands
20 Mountains

Creatures
4 Karplusan Wolverine
4 Sootstroke Kindler
4 Keldon Marauders
4 Tattermunge Duo
4 Scuzzback Marauders/ or Gathan Raiders ( the marauders have persist and trample the raiders can be a 5/5 when your hand is empty which can happen often with this deck)

Spells
4 Tarfire
4 Incinerate
4 Lash Out
4 Riftbolt
4 Giant Baiting

Sideboards
4 Hurly Burly (against 1/1 weenies/saprloings/some elves rats goblins etc)
4 Burn Trail (extra burn when played with conspire like 2 incinerate with the same casting cost + having to tap 2 creatures for conspire) could be changed if you don't like it
4 intimidator Initiate (to tap opponents creature so that your creatures damage goes through cost 1 mana and you must play a red spell in the 1st palce so maybe to conditional ?)
3 inner Flame accolyte ( played with eveoke 2 red gives a creature +2/0 and haste until end of turn or for 3 red as a hastened 4/2)

All these can and probably will be changed Very Happy ( no doubt your fellow clanmates will comment/suggest tell you what's wrong with my suggested deck) but with their input it could possibly be evolved into a tourney viable deck.

An ideal game (i e goldfishing) would be something like this :-

Turn 1 play mountain cast karplusan wolverine

Turn 2 play mountain cast Sootstroke kindler attack with both (kindler has haste) for 2 damage Life Total 18

Turn 3 play mountain cast Keldon Marauders (deals 1 damage as it comes into play) attakc with wolverine and marauder (haste from kindler) Life Total 13

Tuen 4 play mountain cast Giant baiting with conspire (wolverine kindler) attack with tokens and marauder for 11 damage Life Total 2

Turn 5 Marauder deals 1 damage as it leaves play cast tarfire/incinerate for the win Very Happy

Points to note when playing this deck always attack with they wolverine (it only gets its 1 damage bonus whilst attacking nit when defending Crying or Very sad) except when using it to conspire when casting the giant baiting.
Use the Kindler to give creatures coming into play haste ( like the marauders in the above example) it can get extra damage.

Keep your burn spells for creature removal ( especially lash out which is only useful against creatures but can with luck deal damage to your opponent it can also be useful late in game to thin out your land draws ) or to deal the final points of damage to win a game.

Anyway this is my offering for you its simple to play, it has to be as i'm still fairly new to magic and not a very good player (which those of you who have played me will know) But its fun to play Very Happy and isn't that what magic is all about ?

Harry

Terramorphic Expanse

I've been wondering. I've seen some monocolored decklists which include 4xExpanse. I have thus far failed to see the logic behind that. Expanses slow down your deck like CipT lands and all you get is the thinning of 1 land card in your library. Seems like a bad trade to me.

Looks good. I run something similar.

Biggest difference with my version is, i use skred instead of tarfire. And I MD the intimidator.

In response to mooncalf i also run Skred but I thought the expense of snow-covered mountains required to run it might be prohibitive Very Happy just for peoples information ( if you are new and haven't come across Skred before it deals 1 pt of damage for each snow permanent you control so with the right land count its great for the removal of tough creatures for example errant ephemeron 4/4 durkwood baloth 5/5 gathan raiders when its a 5/5 wirewood guardian 6/6 etc) all for 1 red mana.in this deck i might add it to the sideboard or make it maindeck if the metagame plays lots of tough creature and add the required snowlands to support it at the expense of say riftbolt (i like to have the spells capable of being played as instants so you can take out creatures during your opponents turn with riftbolt being a sorcery you can only play it on your turn but i must admit i do like being able to suspend it for 1 red mana Smile )As far as the intimidator you could run 1 or 2 at the expense of either the kindler or the wolverine the choice is of course yours as it is with any suggested deck play any all or none of the suggested creatures and spells the choice is yours. Smile
Enjoy playing thats the main thing about magic and as far as i can see pauper magic in particular Very Happy
