PostSubject: tpdc classic -- jumping on the band wagon   tpdc classic -- jumping on the band wagon Icon_minitimeWed Jun 18, 2008 4:35 am

So i tried my hand at playing in the tpdc classic tourny last night and got beat pretty bad by a burn deck. But after my match i talked with the other guy for bit and came up with a deck list thats been the best for the last few months. With shadowmoor out now it might need some twicking.

GRAND ENTRANCE

MAINDECK
Creatures
4 Ninja of the Deep Hours
4 Phyrexian Walker
3 Aven Riftwatcher
3 Cloud Sprite
3 Trinket Mage
2 Leonin Squire
2 Thought Nibbler
1 Silver Drake
1 Wormfang Drake

Spells
4 Momentary Blink
3 Bonesplitter
3 Memory Lapse
2 Aether Spellbomb
1 Viridian Longbow

Lands
11 Snow-Covered Island
7 Snow-Covered Plains
2 Lonely Sandbar
2 Secluded Steppe
1 Ancient Den
1 Seat of the Synod

SIDEBOARD
4 Grayscaled Gharial
3 Cloudchaser Kestrel
3 Divine Offering
3 Temporal Isolation
1 Aven Riftwatcher
1 Sunbeam Spellbomb

Now I'm not a fan of just coping the deck list of the top decks, but I do like to win and besides if you cant beat them join right? Lets just remember tho that just because you copy the best decks out there doesnt mean your going to win every game. It takes time lean a deck and the people who make these top decks play test them like you wouldnt belive.

As for my try at TPDC classic i dropped after the first round it was past my bed time.

I run something similar.

I would replace Thought Nibbler. Replace it with Suntail Hawk or Lantern Kami.

Also not a big fan of memory lapse, i run exludes and confound.

Other than that it looks solid. Getting alot of T2 ninja attacks ? Smile

I don't like copying decklists either but i think i might make an exception on this one. Very Happy

My deckbuilding brain is worn out atm so should be fun to pick that deck up and play in tonights tpdc!

Thanks for posting it.

Thanks wild! Very Happy

Unfortunatly i ran into Boin (Number 1 ranked player in all of PDC) in the top 8 with his MBC deck. He drew crypt rats early in both games and to be honest this deck has no chance against that. The only chance this deck would stand against MBC would be if the MBC player got some terrible draws and whoever was playing this one got the nuts and was able to finish the game early, by some miracle.

wow, thats deff prett solid deck and i think what really makes it is the courrupts... i miss them not being in std, oh wait they are in shadowmoor but listed as an uncommon, it would still be legal right?

No they wouldn't be std legal for pauper. you could use the uncommon version in a classic game.. but no, not allowed in std Smile

theres no way to appeal that rule? because i know in Peasant magic (you can only use 5 uncommons and the rest of the deck has to be commons) you can use any card as a common so long as it was printed at some point as a common, the same with the uncommons that tured to rares
