This round will be Standard

The rounds starts July 27th 2009 and will end on Sunday August 30th.

Each player can play up to 20 matches for the length of the round. Players can only play each other twice. Matches should be setup as best 2/3 and set for an unlimited time90 minutes. Please make sure your deck only uses commons. Results can be reported to Wildman4420, Timmyhill or JMason either in game or here in a pm, or you can post to the results thread where a forum admin will find it. Please report results as follows: "Winning player name games won - games lost losing player name", e.g. timmyhill 2-1 wildman4420

Cards allowed: current standard with proxies for m10 cards, then m10 standard after 3rd August.
Banlist: N/A
Filter: *** wizards have already removed 10th ed from standard*** so before 3rd august use the pauper filter, then after 3rd august you should use the m10 standard filter.

There is no compulsory fee to play. You are strongly encouraged to donate at least one mtgo event ticket so that there is a prize fund to fight for. (Donations to the same people as listed in the reporting of results to )

Prizes will be awarded as follows.
Finishing pos. Payout
1st 50% of prize fund
2nd 25% of prize fund
3rd 15% of prized fund
4th 5% of prize fund
5th 5% of prize fund

Are we going to be drafting this time around? Do we need to list the deck with which we've chosen to play?

You start a match with the pauper filter which allows you to play with, for instance, lightning bolt, which is in M10. Obviously the rest of your deck must be current standard legal. After 3 August you use the m10 standard filter instead.

NOTE: This is all a bit of a compromise because we're late starting off this league and it should have been finished before the M10 release. We're just trying to be helpful; sorry if it seems complicated.

No this is not a draft league.
You don't need to register decks, just make sure you're playing with only standard legal cards.

Just a reminder, M10 goes on sale at 9am PDT today (5pm GMT). From this point on M10 pauper standard is in force for this league, and 10E standard is now banned (so Incinerate and remove soul are no longer allowed ).

Yeah Just play lightning bolt and essence scatter instead
